Tigertown Mafia Wiffle Ball League Rules

Rules of the league:
All team members will be randomly drawn from a hat on the day of the exhibition.

All games will be played on Saturday afternoon at Leslie's parents house (off of highland between Seigen and Pecue).

  • MOST IMPORTANT RULE:  The teams that do not make it to the championship game must come back for the championship game and barbeque hamburgers and hotdogs for everyone.
  • In this league we do run the bases, but we play with only 2 bases instead of 3.
  • Gloves and cleats are not allowed.
  • Foul Balls: If the ball rolls foul before it passes the 1st or 2nd base then it is a foul ball.  If the ball is rolling fair when it passes 1st or 2nd base then rolls foul only after it passes the base then it is fair.  If the ball is hit in the air and never hits an obstacle (i.e. a tree) and lands foul then it is foul.  If the ball is hit in the air and hits an obstacle but comes down in fair territory then it is fair.  If the ball is hit in the air and hits an obstacle and comes down in foul territory then it is foul.
  • If a ball goes into the flower bed in the outfield then it is an automatic ground rule double.
  • If a hit ball strikes a base runner while the base runner is in fair territory then the runner is out.  If a hit ball strikes a base runner while the base runner is in foul territory then the runner is safe.
  • No "tagging up" allowed.
  • The base runner cannot "run-through" 3rd base, if they run through the base and are tagged then the base runner is out.
  • You can peg a base runner below the throat with the ball to get them out.  If you hit the base runner in the throat, neck, head or face they get to advance an extra base.  i.e. if the base runner was running to second and got hit in the face they get to advance home.
  • After the ball has left the hand of a fielder that is throwing at a base runner, the base runner then changes vertical position and the ball strikes them in the head the runner is out.  Example, if a fielder throws at a base runner and after the ball is in the air the base runner then slides and the ball hits the base runner in the head where if there was no slide the ball would have hit the base runner below the neck the runner is then out.
  • When batting: 3 swinging strikes and you're out, but a batter can not be walked (instead everyone gets to start yelling at the pitcher about how horrible he/she is.  Also if the batter keeps watching pitches go directly over the plate without swinging because they are waiting for the "perfect pitch" then the pitcher has the right to start beaming the batter.  Tigertown Mafia is not responsible for any injury or pain caused from retaliation).
  • When batting the men must use the smaller regulation size wiffle ball bat while the women have the choice of that bat or the big red fat bat.
  • One pitcher can only pitch for 3 innings a game.  For you mathematically challenged this means each team must have a minimum of 2 pitchers per game.
  • Each game will be 6 innings unless both teams unanimously decide that it is too hot and would prefer to go jump in Williams' pool.  If this ever becomes the case then we bug William to bbq hamburgers for us until he gives in while we frolic in his pool.
  • Beer is allowed to be drank while playing but you are responsible for your own dehydration issues and no one is obligated to help you if you pass out in the middle of play.
  • 3 way tie breakers:
If there is a 3 way tie a coin toss will be performed with one representative from each team flipping their teams coin.  The odd man out will be the highest seeded team.  Example, if one team gets heads and the other two teams get tails then the team with heads will be the highest seeded. The other 2 teams will be seeded according to who beat who in the regular season.
